Integrated Pest Management

Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

A Smarter, Science-Based Approach to Landscape Care

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective, environmentally responsible strategy for managing weeds, insects, and plant diseases.

Rather than relying on routine or blanket applications, IPM focuses on proper identification, monitoring, and targeted intervention. Treatments are applied only when necessary and at the appropriate thresholds — reducing unnecessary inputs while protecting plant health.

At McCleaf Landscaping, we believe in sustainable, science-based IPM practices. While synthetic fertilizers and pesticides remain valuable tools, they are used intentionally — not automatically. With a properly designed IPM program, we can significantly reduce reliance on synthetic products while maintaining strong, healthy landscapes.

Every property is different. Our certified and licensed professionals develop customized management plans tailored to your site conditions, plant material, and long-term goals.

Our IPM professionals are certified, state licensed, and complete at least 40 hours of continuing education annually — staying current on the latest research, safety standards, and environmentally responsible practices.

Concerned about your landscape?

If you’re noticing declining plant health, insect damage, discoloration, or unusual growth patterns, early diagnosis is critical.

We offer professional plant analysis and diagnostic services to accurately identify issues and recommend appropriate action. Our team brings decades of field experience and utilizes advanced diagnostic tools to determine the root cause — not just treat symptoms.

Why IPM Matters

Healthy soil. Proper plant selection. Proactive monitoring. Targeted intervention. When these principles are followed, landscapes perform better, require fewer reactive treatments, and remain healthier long term. IPM isn’t just pest control — it’s a comprehensive, responsible management philosophy.
