Hands-on training for the next generation of horticultural professionals
The Horticultural Professional Development (HPD) Program is a structured summer program designed to combine hands-on field experience with guided coursework for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the horticultural industry.
The program provides participants with direct exposure to professional landscape operations while working alongside experienced staff. It is designed for motivated high school and college students who want to develop practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional habits in a real-world setting. Learning opportunities may include hands-on training, field trips to regional gardens and industry events, lectures, and guided or self-directed study.
